After his defeat against the Romans Philip V of
Macedonia turned his attention to Thrace.
In the years 184-181 BC he undertook an expedition against the
Thracians and captured Amadocus III and his son in law Teres. At that
time Beithys, the son of Cotys IV dwelled in the court of
the Macedonian King probably as a hostage. [Martinez-Lacy, 1986] No coins are known in the name of Amadocus III. |
