Mithradates
III son of Mithradates II acceded the throne of Pontus 220 BC.
Little is known
about this King. Some times he is identified as beeing identical with
Mithradates II. He occupied farther parts of Paphlagonia but was not
able to take the fortified city of Sinope.
He was the first king of Pontos to
issue coinage with his portrait.
