o'clock VF Inscription. Giray Thamga in circle of dots; inscription around. "This coin is a nice silver Akche, from the earliest of the Giray Khans known to issue coins, Hajji Giray I (AH 824-871/ 1430-1466 AD). Unlike most later Khans, whose obverse usually has just the formula X Khan Giray son of Y Khan Giray, this one has the obverse legend Sultan al-mu’azzam Hajji Giray. The reverse has a tamga in the center with the mint Qrim and the date AH 867 around." [seller] Album 2068 (1420-1466 AD); Retowski 134/143 (1420-1466 AD) |
