holding book of Gospels; IC / XC with overbars on either side; +KERΘ / ΑΛΕΞ around;
double border of dots..
St. Demetrius on left standing three quarter face to right,
presenting patriarchal cross to Alexius on right, who stands facing;
the saint nimbate, wears military attire and holds sword in left hand;
the emperor wears crown and loros, and grasps shaft of cross with right hand;
to left ΔΙ / ΜΙ / Τ / Ι to right Δ / ΕC / Π[Ι / Τ / Ι]; double border of dots.
